HPV Test
HPV DNA PCR is the test used in the screening of cervical cancers, which are among the most common types of cancer in women. If there are no warts, a vaginal swab sample can be taken to perform the HPV test. If there are warts, the sample should be taken as a biopsy sample by a specialist physician, and should be sent to the laboratory after placed in a transport tube containing a preservative material. If there are no warts in men, HPV DNA test can be performed by taking a swab sample from the urethral region using a special swap. If there are warts, warts are taken as a biopsy sample by a specialist physician, and then they are sent to the laboratory after placed in protective transport tube.
The sampling process intended for the HPV DNA test takes approximately 2 to 3 minutes. You can easily return to your daily routines after this procedure.
Today, there are about 200 known subtypes of HPV; and among them, 40 are considered to be in the high-risk group. The most common high-risk virus types in our country are TYPE16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 54, 56, and 58 respectively. If you have a positive HPV test result, it is the best approach to have a smear test or to get a cervical screening test with the colposcopy procedure to be performed by your physician.
HPV test results in 12-13 days.
